Book Review: How to Be a Grown-Up

Hilarious and witty, this quick read will stick with you!

How to Be a Grown-Up: A Novel was written by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus and they nailed it. HBGU is going to make you smile–over and over again–and it’s going to make you laugh. Rory is the main character who is struggling to survive and hold her family together for a husband (Blake) who is apparently ridiculously spoiled, arrogant, and selfish.

I was pissed off that Blake kept talking about needing a break from NOT WORKING!!!

I admired Rory’s ability to jump into her role as  head of the household and felt for her as she attempted to balance being her own marriage counselor (cause the loser therapist they went to wasn’t worth a slice of a damn), raise a young girl, guide a tween boy, juggle millionaire and creep potential suitors, hold a full-time (and then some) job while preventing the sabotage of her employer, and maintain the vast majority of her sanity. Now that’s a bad bitch.

I highly recommend HBGU. Do yourself a favor and get a copy!
